| Etymology of specific epithet |
Named for Lawrence ‘‘Avi’’ Greenberg (21 July 1982-26 November 2011). The diagnostic lateral cephalic stripe of this species, reminiscent of a smile, is a symbol of Avi’s gentle disposition and goodhearted nature. He is an inspiration to and missed friend of the first author and many others. Latinized as a noun in the genitive singular.
